On November 11, 2022, the Shenzhen Metro Line 13 train was officially unveiled.
Developed by CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd. with contributions from CRRC Guangdong Co., Ltd., the trains will operate on MTR Corporation’s first fully autonomous rail line in Shenzhen, further enhancing connectivity between Shenzhen and Hong Kong and advancing rail transit development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The train features a lightweight aluminum alloy body with a sleek design dominated by white tones. A vibrant orange U-shaped stripe runs across the exterior, symbolizing the line’s identity and exuding modernity.
The angular front design adopts a flattened profile, with the black front section harmonizing seamlessly with the side window areas for a cohesive aesthetic.
Inside, the driver’s cabin and passenger compartments are unified through an integrated interior design. Utilizing advanced technologies and materials, the train emphasizes intelligence, lightweight construction, comfort, safety, and adaptability.
Equipped with fully autonomous operation technology, the Shenzhen Metro Line 13 trains operate at 100 km/h. Each 8-car formation (6 powered cars and 2 trailers) has a 35-year design lifespan.
The onboard air conditioning system incorporates Honrock’s low-temperature plasma air purification system and adaptive airflow adjustment. This system eliminates harmful gases, bacteria, and viruses while neutralizing odors. It also supports dual-zone temperature control (strong/weak cooling). To address Shenzhen’s humid climate, the system includes specialized humidity regulation.
